How guides are written

Each guide answers one practical question and starts with the answer. When a guide describes tax rules, it names the rule and links to the official source. When it describes an exchange's screens, it says when those screens were last checked, because they change often.

What we won't publish

  • Invented examples presented as real cases, or statistics without a source.
  • Instructions for getting around an exchange's country restrictions or identity checks.
  • Advice on what you personally should report.

Corrections

We fix errors in place and update the date at the top of the guide. If you spot one, email us at p2ptab@p2ptab.com. When we change how a figure is calculated, the methodology page is updated to match.

Money

The site's one referral relationship is described in the affiliate disclosure. It doesn't decide what we cover or what we say about any exchange or tax software.
