How to Buy USDT in Gambia with Wave or a Bank Account on Binance P2P

By the P2PTab editors · Updated October 18, 2026

USDT to GMD: Wave, Ecobank, GTBank

To buy USDT in The Gambia, use the Binance app: verify your identity, open P2P, choose Buy, USDT and GMD, and filter by Wave Mobile Money (or Ecobank, GTBank or Access Bank). Pick a seller with at least 30 completed orders and a completion rate of 95% or more, enter your amount in dalasis (most ads start at D 300), and pay the exact amount from your own Wave wallet or bank account within the time shown, usually 15 minutes. Tap Transferred, Notify Seller only after paying. If the USDT isn't released, appeal instead of cancelling, and keep the chat inside Binance. At 12:10 UTC on 17 October 2026 the best price from reliable sellers for a 100 USDT order was D 77.00 per USDT; the live USDT to GMD page shows the price now.

Can I use Binance in Gambia?

The Gambia is not on Binance's restricted list (January 2026 version).

USDT to dalasi: prices by order size

At 12:10 UTC on 17 October 2026, counting sellers with at least 30 orders and 95% completion in the last 30 days:

Order Best price per USDT You pay Reliable sellers who took it
10 USDT D 77.00 D 770 11
50 USDT D 77.00 D 3,850 15
100 USDT D 77.00 D 7,700 15
500 USDT D 77.00 D 38,500 12
1,000 USDT D 77.00 D 77,000 9

Above 1,000 USDT the sellers thin out: 4 took 2,000 USDT, at D 77.10, and only 2 took 5,000 USDT, at D 78.50. For comparison, the Central Bank of The Gambia's daily valuation rate was D 73.22 per US dollar on 15 October 2026 (CBG), and the rate provider our live page uses gave D 74.59 on 17 October 2026.

Binance P2P payment methods for dalasis

These are Binance's payment methods for GMD that reliable sellers took on 17 October 2026, with how many of the 15 took each:

Payment method Reliable sellers
Wave Mobile Money 13
Ecobank 9
GTBank 8
Access Bank 4
Bank transfer, any bank 3
Bloom Bank Africa 1

Afrimoney and QMoney are not among Binance's payment methods for GMD, so an ad asking you to pay with them is outside what the order covers. Whichever method you use, the wallet or account must be in your own name: Binance's rules ask buyers to pay from an account whose owner name matches their registered name on Binance (Binance P2P User Transaction Policy).

How to buy USDT in Gambia with Wave, step by step

Binance P2P buy list for GMD with the Wave Mobile Money filter; the first five ads all ask D 77.00, with minimum orders from 300 to 1,000 GMD; advertiser names are pixelated
The GMD buy list with Wave Mobile Money selected, 17 October 2026. The first five ads all asked D 77.00; most started at D 300, and one at D 1,000.
  1. Verify your identity on Binance; P2P opens once verification is done. Our Binance sign-up guide covers it. A referral code can only be added while the account is being opened, not afterwards.
  2. In the app, tap Add Funds, then P2P Trading (on the website, open P2P). Choose Buy, USDT, GMD, and filter by Wave Mobile Money or your bank.
  3. Pick a seller with a long record whose limits fit your amount. Enter the amount in dalasis; most ads take orders from D 300.
  4. Place the order and pay the exact amount from your own Wave wallet or bank account to the one shown in the order, within the time the order gives you: 15 minutes on most Gambian ads.
  5. Tap Transferred, Notify Seller only after the payment has gone through. Tapping it before paying breaks Binance's P2P rules and can get the account suspended.
  6. The seller releases the USDT to your Spot account (older guides say Funding; Binance has been moving crypto from Funding into Spot since 29 September 2026). If it isn't released and you've paid, appeal from the order with your payment confirmation rather than cancelling: a cancelled order sends the USDT back to the seller. What to upload is in how to appeal a Binance P2P order. Keep every message in the order chat; Binance says it isn't responsible for losses on trades arranged outside its platform.

Selling USDT for dalasis

Choose Sell, USDT and GMD, filter by Wave Mobile Money or your bank, and pick a buyer with a long record. Release the USDT only when the dalasis are in your own Wave wallet or bank account; a screenshot or an SMS isn't proof of payment.

Be wary of a buyer offering far more than everyone else. At 12:10 UTC on 17 October 2026 one account with 44 orders offered up to D 85.12 per USDT on two ads, while every other reliable buyer paid D 75.55 or less. A bid that far above the rest is a common way to draw sellers into scams, so our live page leaves such offers out of its prices and says so under the price board.

What the Central Bank of The Gambia says

We found no rules on crypto from the Central Bank of The Gambia (CBG), and no Gambian licence for crypto exchanges, when we checked in October 2026. Two things are on record:

  • The CBG's foreign exchange policy says "participation in the foreign exchange market requires a license from the CBG" (CBG Foreign Exchange Policy, December 2023, section 5.2). Buying USDT on Binance P2P is not a way to get US dollars or to send money abroad, and this guide covers neither.
  • A 2024 anti-money laundering bill, the AML/CFT/PF Bill 2024, would bring virtual assets under rules enforced by the Financial Intelligence Unit once it becomes law (The Point, 21 June 2024). We found no report that it had been passed by October 2026.

A dispute over a P2P order goes through Binance's own appeal process, as in the steps above. For fraud, the Gambia Police Force asks people to report at the nearest police station, or to call 9968885 (The Point, 2 March 2026).
