How to Buy USDT in Oman: Bank Muscat and Other Banks on Binance P2P

By the P2PTab editors · Updated October 18, 2026

USDT to OMR: Bank Muscat and other banks

To buy USDT with Omani rials, open Binance P2P, choose Buy, USDT and OMR, filter by your bank, skip the Promoted Ad, and pick a seller with at least 30 completed orders and a completion rate close to 100% whose limits fit your amount. Pay the exact amount from a bank account in your own name, then tap Transferred, Notify Seller. At 12:10 UTC on 17 October 2026 the best price from reliable sellers for a 100 USDT order was OMR 0.389 per USDT, 1.17% above the Central Bank of Oman's peg of 0.3845 rials per dollar; the live USDT to OMR page shows the price now.

Binance P2P Oman: which bank to pay with

Most Omani sellers accept several banks. On 17 October 2026, these were the banks taken by the 46 sellers our live page counts (at least 30 orders and 95% completion in the last 30 days):

Bank Reliable sellers who took it
Bank Muscat 39
Sohar International 30
Bank Dhofar 20
Bank transfer, any bank 15
Ahlibank 13
National Bank of Oman 9
Bank Nizwa 2
Arab Bank 1

Pay from an account in your own name at your bank, and check that the seller's ad lists it. Many ads also list Airtime Mobile Top-Up; it's better to pay by bank transfer, because a top-up doesn't show your name if the order ends in a dispute.

How to buy USDT in Oman, step by step

Binance P2P buy list for OMR with the Bank Muscat filter; a Promoted Ad at the top asks 0.398 rials, and the ordinary ads below ask 0.389; advertiser names are pixelated
The OMR buy list with Bank Muscat selected, 17 October 2026. The Promoted Ad asked 0.398 rials, about 2.3% more than the ordinary ads below at 0.389. Binance shows the rial with its Arabic sign.
  1. Verify your identity on Binance; P2P opens once verification is done. Our Binance sign-up guide covers opening and verifying an account. A referral code can only be added while the account is being opened, not afterwards.
  2. In the app, tap Add Funds, then P2P Trading (on the website, open P2P). Choose Buy, USDT, OMR, and filter by your bank.
  3. Skip the Promoted Ad box at the top; it's a paid placement, and in the screenshot it cost more than every ad below it. Check the ad's minimum order: many of the larger sellers start at OMR 100, and on 17 October 2026 the smallest minimum among reliable sellers was OMR 5.
  4. Place the order and pay the exact amount from your own account to the account shown in the order, within the time the order gives you: 15 minutes on most Omani ads.
  5. Tap Transferred, Notify Seller only after the transfer has gone through. Binance's rules say tapping it before paying can get the account suspended (Binance P2P User Transaction Policy).
  6. The seller releases the USDT to your Spot account (older guides say Funding; Binance has been moving crypto from Funding into Spot since 29 September 2026). Binance's rules give a seller 15 minutes to release after confirming your payment. If the USDT isn't released and you've paid, appeal from the order page with your bank receipt rather than cancelling: a cancelled order sends the USDT back to the seller. What to upload is in how to appeal a Binance P2P order.

1 USDT to OMR, and 10 to 200 USDT in Omani rials

At the best reliable price at 12:10 UTC on 17 October 2026, OMR 0.389 per USDT:

USDT Omani rials Reliable sellers who took it
1 USDT OMR 0.389 none: below every minimum order
10 USDT OMR 3.890 none: the smallest minimum was OMR 5
50 USDT OMR 19.450 13
100 USDT OMR 38.900 19
200 USDT OMR 77.800 22

So the smallest order you can place with a reliable seller is about 13 USDT. Prices move in steps of 0.001 rial, so most sizes cost the same per USDT; the order-size table on the live page shows today's figures.

How to sell USDT in Oman

Selling works the other way round: choose Sell, USDT and OMR, pick a buyer with a long record, and wait for the rials to reach your account. Release the USDT only when the money shows in your own bank app, sent from an account in the buyer's own name; a screenshot or an SMS isn't proof of payment. At 12:10 UTC on 17 October 2026 the best reliable buyer paid OMR 0.386 per USDT for a 100 USDT order. Buyers' ads gave them anywhere from 15 minutes to 3 hours to pay you, so check the time on the ad before you open the order.

Common Binance P2P mistakes in Oman

  • Paying from a relative's or friend's account. Binance's rules require the payer's name to match your Binance name, and a third-party payment can suspend your P2P access for at least seven days.
  • Paying by airtime top-up. It's better to pay by bank transfer, which carries your name if the order is disputed.
  • Moving the chat or the trade to WhatsApp or another app. Binance says it isn't responsible for losses on trades made outside its platform.
  • Chasing high returns. In 2022 the Central Bank of Oman told people to "be cautious of using cryptocurrencies" and of Ponzi schemes that promise huge profits, and in March 2025 the Financial Services Authority warned against online platforms that promise "huge and quick returns".

Does Binance work in Oman? What the Central Bank and the FSA say

Oman is not on Binance's restricted list (January 2026 version), and Binance P2P has an OMR market with dozens of sellers. What Oman's regulators have said:

  • In a statement in October 2020 the Central Bank of Oman said: "The Central Bank of Oman once again warns all citizens and residents against using cryptocurrencies such as Dagcoin and others." It added that it "has not granted any license to any institution or body for trading in cryptocurrency or similar products", that crypto "is not subject to the protection of the Omani Banking Law No. 114/2000", and that "anyone who deals in these cryptocurrencies, he does so on his own responsibility" (Times of Oman, 6 October 2020).
  • In a tweet reported on 10 October 2022, the bank said: "Be cautious of using cryptocurrencies, as well as other deceptive investment schemes that warn huge profits (Ponzi schemes)." The Oman Observer, reporting it, wrote that in repeated advisories the bank "has been warning that it has not licensed any agency or bank to trade in cryptocurrencies in the Sultanate of Oman" (Oman Observer, 10 October 2022).
  • In June 2023 the Capital Market Authority, whose notices are now on the website of the Financial Services Authority (FSA), issued Decision No. 35/2023: "any person can only carry out the virtual assets activity in Oman after registration", which covers providers that offer their services in Oman, as a first step towards a framework that is "currently under preparation" (FSA, 14 June 2023).
  • In March 2025 the FSA warned "all individuals and institutions against dealing with unlicensed electronic platforms" that offer "services related to securities such as digital currencies", and called on the public to avoid "dealing with any electronic platform that deals with activities related to securities unless it is licensed by the FSA". It asks anyone investing through such a platform to check the FSA's list of companies on fsa.gov.om and in its app first (FSA, 16 March 2025).

Under the Central Bank's 2020 statement, crypto falls outside the protection of the Banking Law. A dispute over a P2P order goes through Binance's appeal process, and the places to report fraud are listed below.

Tax on crypto in Oman

Oman has no personal income tax today. Royal Decree 56/2025 brings in a 5% tax on an individual's income above OMR 42,000 a year from 1 January 2028, and the sources of income listed in EY's summary of the decree don't mention crypto (EY, 8 July 2025). Check again before 2028.

Where to report a P2P problem in Oman

  • An order that went wrong: appeal from the order on Binance, as in our appeal guide.
  • Fraud: the Royal Oman Police hotline 80077444 (Oman Observer, 31 July 2024).
  • A suspicious investment platform: the FSA's whistleblowing service on fsa.gov.om and in its app.

Bank Muscat is one of Binance's payment methods for OMR, and on 17 October 2026 it was the bank most Omani sellers took: 39 of 46. You pay the seller by bank transfer from your own Bank Muscat account, and Binance holds the seller's USDT until they confirm the money arrived.
